Mr. Switzer was admitted to the California State Bar in 1989 and has practiced criminal defense since that time. He was previously a Supervising Assistant Public Defender in Placer County and has successful verdicts in over 100 jury trials, court trials, administrative hearings and legal motions.

Mr. Switzer is a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.This distinction has been earned by less than one percent of the persons practicing law in the State of California.

Mr. Switzer is a graduate of the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law and has been a Superior Court Judge Pro Tem and Peer Court Judge for several years. Additionally, Mr. Switzer has expertise in Three Strikes cases, sexual assault matters and driving under the influence of both alcohol and drugs.
