Two arrested on drug charges after warrant served

Although California is a groundbreaking state that provides people dealing with debilitating diseases the possible opportunity to legally possess small amounts of marijuana, this does not open the door for other illicit drugs. In Marina recently, two people were arrested for varying drug crimes after a warrant was served at a home. The 32-year-old man that was there was arrested for possession and transportation of controlled substances for sale and for being in possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was also charged with possession and furnishing prescription drugs, maintaining a place for illegally providing controlled substances and probation violation. There was a 31-year-old woman there as well and she was charged with possession of methamphetamine and is being investigated for possessing identification that does not belong to her. The two were taken to Monterey County Jail for booking on the charges.

It is unclear why the warrant was issued, but it was carried out and resulted in these two people being charged with miscellaneous drug crimes. For them, they may want to consider hiring an experienced criminal law attorney for their protection of rights when they go to court for these charges. They may be innocent of these charges, which is a guarantee under the law until they are proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Regardless, they are entitled to a solid legal defense that may be able to help them in understanding why these charges were brought up against them and the potential jail or prison time they could face if found guilty. California is a state that has broken ground in many ways for the rest of the country to follow, but it is still a state of law and order. An experienced attorney may be able to help these two reach an equitable solution to the drug charges that they are facing in the most effective manner.
