Sacramento robbery results in injury, arrest

A person who is convicted of a serious crime in Roseville may face serious penalties. For instance, consequences for weapons charges may include fines, incarceration, probation and community service. A young couple may see first-hand the kind of consequences that are associated with weapons crimes after authorities claim they were responsible for a brazen daylight robbery that took place earlier this month.

Roseville residents may have heard of this incident in which authorities say a woman and her 4-year-old child were held at gunpoint during a robbery. The mother was then shot in the back. An 18-year-old man is alleged to be the shooter, while his girlfriend is alleged to be the driver of the SUV that pulled up to the woman and her child.

The couple, who authorities say are both 18-years-old, was tracked to the Arden Fair Mall where police claim they used a credit card stolen in the robbery. They were then observed returning to the SUV that matched the description of the vehicle driven in the robbery. Both have been charged with robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. The male suspect was also being held on a parole violation.

The woman who was shot in the robbery was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for her injuries. It is not known how serious the injury is.

In situations like this, it is best for the accused to rely on an experienced criminal defense attorney. An attorney will investigate the evidence in a case, challenge prosecutor's claims and work towards a favorable outcome.
