Suspected drug trafficker arrested in California

Roseville residents may not be aware, but just a three hour drive to the south will take you to an area close to Raymond, California, where there is a remote area that is popular for growing marijuana. Unfortunately for those who may be inclined to use the area for illegal purposes, this site has been under investigation by authorities for quite some time. Recently, an arrest was made in connection with the marijuana grow site in Madera County.

Earlier this month, the Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team arrested a man from Mexico who was allegedly involved in drug trafficking operations. Authorities claim the man was in possession of two firearms and 348 marijuana plants at the time of his arrest.

The 39-year-old man will most certainly face a variety of drug charges after his home was searched and police reportedly discovered approximately 12 pounds of processed marijuana apparently ready for sale. This arrest appears to have been weeks in the making as it was also reported that the authorities went to the alleged growing site in late May and removed over 7,500 marijuana plants.

Drug possession and manufacturing charges can carry steep consequences, especially in California where concern about the drug trade continues to be a high-profile area of police enforcement. Joint state and federal task forces litter the state and the nation in an effort to gain ground in the war on drugs.

Someone who faces drug charges may feel that the cards are stacked against them. However, there are many different aspects to a case that must be proven in order for prosecutors to secure a conviction.

Working with an experienced criminal defense attorney is often wise in these types of situations. An attorney will investigate the evidence in a case and work towards a favorable outcome for the accused.

Because these thefts typically involve commerce, which is overseen on a federal level, the crime you are being accused of is one that will be prosecuted in federal courts. Not all lawyers have experience in these courts. An identity theft defense attorney will.

As you look for an identity theft defense attorney, start by looking for one that has a long list of successful cases in this specific area of the law. The more success the lawyer has under his belt, the better your results will likely be, and the more understanding the lawyer will have about the laws surrounding your particular crime.
