Roseville man faces additional charges for alleged sex crimes

The cloud of suspicion over one Roseville man arrested in June has grown a bit darker recently. The 45-year-old man was arrested in late June for the alleged sexual abuse of a child. However, the case may not end there. Police launched an investigation into the man's activities. They claim there could be other victims. He now faces additional charges for the alleged sexual abuse of children.

According to reports, the potential victims range in age from 5-years-old to young people in their mid teens. The alleged abuse was said to have occurred over the course of many years.

Authorities claim the Roseville resident contacted children through family and friends. They say he may have also contacted children through online video games.

Anyone familiar with our previous posts knows that allegations of sex crimes are quite serious. Mere accusations can damage a person's reputation beyond repair, regardless of whether the case is ultimately dropped or the accused is found not guilty.

Most would agree that avoiding serious prison time would be the paramount goal of any criminal defense. Some criminal cases can result in shortened prison sentences. However, people who are convicted of a sex crime will likely be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of their lives.

Because of the serious penalties a person could face, people charged with sex crimes would be wise to consult with an experienced criminal defense attorney. An attorney will investigate all of the evidence in a case and work hard to defend an individual against the charges.
