Drunk driving and Super Bowl have unfortunate link

The Super Bowl has come and gone, and in its wake there are plenty of talking points and questions (run the football, right?!). As much as Super Bowl Sunday has to do with football, though, there is another aspect of this day that doesn't necessarily get lost in the shuffle so much as it is something that no one really likes to talk about: drunk driving.

On Super Bowl Sunday, there are plenty of people enjoying an alcoholic beverage or two. Some of these people make the unfortunate decision to drink and drive, and that causes a serious safety concern out on the roads during Super Bowl Sunday (may it be before, during or after the game).

First of all, for anyone who is aware that they will be attending an event and that they will likely be consuming alcoholic beverages at this event, then it is your responsibility to find a designated driver or a safe way to get home. Making the ill-advised decision to get behind the wheel of a car when you have consumed alcohol is just a bad and dangerous decision that opens you up for liability and criminal charges.

Having said that though, anyone who is accused of driving under the influence needs to get himself or herself an experienced criminal defense attorney to help them with their case. At the Law Offices of Jess C. Bedore, we relish the opportunity to help people who have been accused of driving under the influence, and we will do everything we can to help you.
